My wife and went to Vegas to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Based on all the recommendations out there, we decided to celebrate at the Golden Steer. The restaurant definitely lived up to the hype, the food, service, and ambiance cannot be beat! We arrived a few minutes early for our dinner reservation. The hostess was friendly, pulled up our reservation, and wished us a happy anniversary. I gave her a tip and said we would appreciate a cozy booth, and she said they would have our table read in a few minutes. We were seated at the John Wayne booth. The leather was soft, well maintained, and the restaurant was beautiful. Everything is done in dark woods, and just has an old school vibe. Our dinner was amazing! I had their French onion soup, long horn steak, and a twice baked potato. My wife had their 12 oz filet with creamed corn, she is not a soup or salad fan. The steaks were cooked perfectly! We both got medium rare steaks, and these steaks were medium rare. They had a nice red center that became more pink toward the edges. The sear on the steak was excellent, it gave the steak a flavor full crust. The twice baked potato was amazing as well. My wife liked the creamed corn, but said she would try something different next time. The service was just amazing. We had three waiters seeing to our needs. They all loved talking about the restaurant, its history, the menu, etc., They made menu suggestions, but weren't pushy the way some waiters can be. They always would start off by asking "Has so and so shown you the menu," or "did so and so ask if you needed another drink." I really cannot say enough about the staff. I cannot wait until our next trip to the Steer. It was trueky amazing.

The Golden Steer Steakhouse is a special kind of place. This place is full of vintage Las Vegas history, amazing photography and art, and a staff that treats every single guest like a VIP. I've been to the Golden Steer twice now and each visit was perfect from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. The last time I went was a few days before my wedding in October as we were taking both sets of parents out for a steak dinner. We had reservations for 6PM and they had our table ready to go as soon as we walked in. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant and immediately handed menus and given water, the staff was super fast all night with taking orders, refilling drinks, and checking in on us during our visit. We ended up ordering macaroni & cheese, mashed potatoes, the fresh cut fries as side dishes while I went with the petite fillet with lobster tail as a main course. I would break down everything I ate and tried, but since everything was delicious and incredible, I'm just not going to bother. The sides were all top notch while the steak and lobster were both homeruns, my only complaint is not ordering 4 lobster tails with how good that was. Overall, Golden Steer Steakhouse is vintage Vegas at it's finest and an absolute must go for anyone visiting the city. In a city full of steakhouses, this place stands out. Since I somehow manage to take zero photos of food between two visits, here's a photo of my family eating here as proof. I'm a clown.

Finally checked out Golden Steer with my family and it did not disappoint! Golden Steer is a classic steakhouse that has been operating since the 1950's. Mobs would hang out there along with famous actors, actresses, and singers like Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, etc.. They have a VIP section inside the restaurant that contain 8 booths. The 8 booths in the ViP section is where the famous actors, actresses, and singers frequently sat. My family and I sat where Joe DiMaggio would sit at inside the restaurant. My family and I have been trying to make reservations online for months, but we got lucky and finally got in. Overall, the service was really good. The servers were very attentive and our waters were always filled. Our server, explained more of the history of Golden Steer which was pretty cool. Food was amazing! We ordered the tomahawk steak, filet mignon, table side caesar salad, many sides, and table side banana foster for dessert. - Tomahawk steak was shared amongst three of us and it was perfect. They also give you some sort of salt to boost the steak flavor as well. Our dad ordered a filet mignon and it was amazing in flavor too. - Table side caesar salad and table side banana fosters is a must! They are really good at presenting and making the food in front of you and it was really impressive to watch. The sides consisted of Mac and cheese, garlic bread, stuffed mushroom caps, and broccoli parmesan. They were okay which is why I gave this a 4 star review. Next time we come in, we probably wouldn't order the sides again. This place is all about the steaks and seafood! We will definitely come back for that again. Our server gave us a tip that to get more of an expedited entry, its just better to make a reservation via phone or in person instead of making a reservation through the reservation platform online

I FINALLY GOT TO DINE AT GOLDEN STEER! I have wanted to dine here for a long time but I never could get a reservation. My last Vegas trip I decided just to drop in and to my surprise I was seated right away in the bar area in a nice high table with room for four people. The service was outstanding from the time I approached the building to the time I left. Now about the food. If I'm being honest. My socks weren't knocked off. I had extremely high hopes for this restaurant because of all the hype. Now I'm not saying it wasn't good, because it was, I just expected to be wowed. We ordered the dinner for two: 40oz tomahawk steak, two salads, creamed corn , huge baked potato, a side of crab, and bread rolls. One salad was drenched in dressing and was too overpowering. The steak had a lovely presentation but it was lacking in flavor/seasoning. To us it was just a huge plain steak. We did find the salt after we finished eating the steak, maybe this would've helped the flavor but we weren't aware that it was there. The creamed corn was the star of the show. That was some good corn!!!!! The side of crab was just okay. Regular dinner rolls for their bread. The baked potato was just a large baked potato. The moscato was good. Overall this is a nice place to eat but I wasn't super impressed. The service again was OUTSTANDING. Shoutout to Sheena !!!!

The Golden Steer touts itself as Vegas' oldest steakhouse, founded in 1958 and frequented by many Hollywood and Vegas legends. While the food is perfectly fine, the restaurant's finest qualities are its iconic status, old school Rat Pack vibe and design, and its super-friendly staff. Located in a nondescript mini-mall, it's walkable from the Sahara Hotel and Casino, which is the northern terminus for the Las Vegas Monorail, if you don't want to drive, taxi or Uber here. The Ahern Hotel (formerly the Lucky Dragon) is next door. Plan MONTHS ahead to secure a reservation, which is essential. I think even the high-top tables in the bar area require a reservation, although the seats at the bar itself may not. They open at 4 pm, and there was a line, with one of the hosts checking folks in on an iPad with a security guard standing by. Beyond the bar area, there is a smaller dining room with all booths (black), with 2 larger rooms beyond with tables and booths (red). I had notified the restaurant earlier that my party size was decreasing from 2 to 1, and still they graciously offered me a booth or table; I thought for sure I'd be seated at the bar. I chose a booth and got Clint Eastwood's in the first room, where Marilyn Monroe, Sammy Davis Jr. and Joe DiMaggio (among others) also had booths. Diners are served by multiple staff members, all but one (the one who took my order) of whom were extremely affable. I had studied the menu online and knew I wanted to try a Ship and Shore (aka Surf and Turf) dinner. I opted for the Shorthorn with lobster tail. The Shorthorn is a 16 oz NY Strip, the lobster tails are jumbo Western Australian, which means huge. The steak was well-seasoned and prepared as ordered. The lobster of course came with drawn butter and was fine. Ship and Shore dinners come with a salad and a side. I chose the Caesar because it is famous. It's also almost twice the cost of the other salads, probably because for parties of 2 or more it's prepared tableside. As a solo diner, my salad was pre-prepared, but tossed and plated tableside. It was fine, but I'm sure the wedge salad would have been equally good. My go-to steakhouse sides are creamed spinach and corn, and I ordered both. Portion sizes were decent and both were good, but the corn was not off-the-cob fresh. What with the complimentary bread basket, I of course had leftovers. My Cherries Jubilee dessert was fully prepared and flambeed tableside. Their Bananas Foster is also served this way, and yes, they both cost twice as much as the other desserts. But it was very delicious and not too boozy, and the show was great. Overall a fine and memorable experience and meal. Dining here seems to have put me on their mailing list; they have steaks, seasonings and butters for sale. I got an offer for a free tin of their popular Sergio's Seasoning ($8 shipping).

The service here is absolutely amazing. Our server made sure our water was never empty, checked up on us to make sure everything tasted good, and replaced our utensils after every round of food. The lobster tail is definitely better than the king crab leg. I felt that the crab legs didn't have much meat on it and tasted like a slight upgrades compared to snow crab legs. The tomahawk steak was cooked well and it was tender. The seasoning on it was well balanced in saltiness. The Mac and cheese was the side that I liked the most. It was creamy, rich and flavorful.

The ambiance of this restaurant is excellent! Old Vegas style...with waiters, servers, hosts, bartenders all suited up in all black, looking sharp and all so friendly, helpful, and courteous.....down to the security people in the parking lot. The area this restaurant is in, isn't the best place but don't let that deter you. We were in town celebrating our 11 year wedding anniversary, and were seated at a nice red booth in the back dining room. I had made our reservations 3 months in advance, and even so was only able to get us in at 8:15pm. I had posted in the reservation that I wanted a red booth. We selected a nice bottle of cabernet to go with our dinner, and our server brought it out in no time. The hubby had the Ship & Shore Dinner of petite filet with lobster tail (market price was $189) served with your choice of salad & side. He opted for the golden steer dinner salad with the house vinaigrette, and the Vegas' largest baked potato. He review: Steak was excellent, and cooked perfectly. The lobster was a little bit of rubber. The baked potato was HUGE, and cooked just right. As a vegetarian myself, I had some of his salad, and was not impressed. I would have expected the lettuce to be crisp, and the rest of the ingredients to be as fresh as they could be. I had the macaroni and cheese, and an order of the broccoli. Both side dishes were extremely good. The amount of cheese in the macaroni and cheese side was perfect. Both were pretty big sides and most couples could split. The broccoli was broiled at the end, giving it that burnt crispness on top that is fantastic. However, if you aren't big on garlic...skip the broccoli. There were no vampires getting me that night. LOL! We had no room for their famous deserts, but our server Carlos actually came over with a slice of cheesecake for our wedding anniversary. Very nice! The presentation of the food was impeccable! If you needed anything, there was always somebody there to make it happen. Thank you for a very nice night out!

This is a must stop if you want the full Vegas experience. Located in a nondescript strip mall, it might seem like you've gone to the wrong place, but don't judge a book by it's cover. Once inside, it's like you've stepped into a time capsule with red booths and dimly lit lights, and pictures of the Rat Pack and other Vegas dignitaries lining the walls. The staff are all very presentable, friendly, and ready to guide you through all the offerings. My group and I started off with a Caesar salad, which was made fresh table side - a must order. The drinks are very well made, and they have a well curated selection of spirits. As for appetizers, the fried calamari was cooked to perfection. The stuffed mushrooms were also great. As for the stars of the show, you can't really go wrong with any of their selections. The Salmon for example is paired with a dill sauce, which was pleasant. As for the main attraction, you can't go wrong with any of their steaks. The Longhorn steak and lobster tail was an epic presence at out table, and perfect for two to share. In all I was pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. Definitely lives up to the hype.
